We’re excited to invite you to an internal-only CEU event focused on one of the most essential tools in programming for learners with complex needs: Essential for Living (EFL).
The 4 Wh’s + How of the EFL: Who, What, When, Why, How
Presented by: Lauren D’Amato, PhD, BCBA-D
CEUs: 1.5 Learning CEUs
This 75-minute CEU will help you confidently navigate the decision-making process of when to move beyond VB-MAPP and shift to EFL for learners with limited skill repertoires, minimal communication, or plateaued progress. We’ll walk through:
- Identifying learner profiles that best fit EFL
- Scoring logistics and interpreting past the “Essential Eight” or Quick Assessment
- Translating assessment data into medically necessary, insurance-defensible treatment goals
- Building individualized programs that prioritize function-based skill development
Whether you’re already using EFL or just curious about when and how to get started, this session will offer practical guidance, case examples, and best practices you can apply immediately.
This session is for Bierman team members only.
Let’s keep building clinically necessary, evidence-aligned, and truly impactful programs together.
