Course Description:
This 1-hour Ethics CEU explores the essential role of culturally responsive practice in behavior analysis. Led by Ruby Mannankara-Cabrera, EdD, BCBA, LBA (TX, NY), this session examines the distinctions between cultural competence and cultural humility, while offering practical strategies to help clinicians reflect on their values and biases to better serve diverse client populations.
Participants will learn how to recognize the impact of cultural dynamics in therapeutic relationships and how ethical guidelines support inclusive, individualized care. Through a lens of compassion and self-awareness, attendees will gain tools to strengthen the provider–client relationship and foster more ethical and equitable ABA services.

Ruby Mannankara-Cabrera (Moderator)
Director of Clinical Development
Ruby Mannankara-Cabrera, Ed.D., BCBA, LBA (TX & NY) is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and a Licensed Behavior Analyst in both Texas and New York. She holds a Doctor of Education in Learning and Organizational Change from Baylor University, where her research centered on culturally responsive care within behavior analysis. Dr. Mannankara-Cabrera has been actively engaged in the field of behavior analysis since 2006 and has held BCBA certification since 2016. She currently serves as the Director of Clinical Development for a growing ABA organization and Professor of Behavior Analysis at University of Texas - San Antonio and Texas A&M University - San Antonio. Her work emphasizes the delivery of meaningful, person-centered ABA services and Her research and professional interests lie at the intersection of culturally responsive care and clinician development, with a focus on integrating cultural humility and competence into behavior analytic practice to support more inclusive and sustainable ABA service delivery models.
